January 22, 2005: Jim Bishop's Gold Digger wins "City of Key West" TrophyConcerns there would not be enough wind to hold a race were unfounded as an 8-10-knot westerly made for a fun and fair finale to the 2005 Key West Race Week. Seven teams went out in style, notching a bullet in Race 8 or 9 to secure overall victory in the northern hemisphere’s largest mid-winter regatta. For Jim Bishop's team aboard Gold Digger racing in PHRF Class 2, this day was the icing on the cake. With her strongest day of the week finishing first in the last race, Gold Digger was awarded the City of Key West Trophy as boat of the day. Team Gold Digger competed in Nautica Key West Race Week's PHRF class 2 which included a Beneteau 47.7, three J133s, a Farr 395 and a shock 40.
